Review of The Conversation (1974) by Ross B — 23 Oct 2009
How can a person follow up the greatest movie ever made, The Godfather? You make a movie that explores the use of sound and make the audience confused about what they just heard. Francis Ford Coppola directs a fantastic movie that you are not sure if you are witnessing a conspiracy or just a man going crazy.
Gene Hackman is great as Harry Caul, a lonely and borderline anti social surveillance expert who is drawn into a case that seems to be a bit over his head. Great supporting turns by John Cazale, Teri Garr, Cindy Williams, Robert Duvall, and Harrison Ford make this movie stellar and a must see.
