I'm really glad I took a chance with this film as it did not appeal to me much when I first came across it, but how wrong that assumption was. I thought it was brilliant throughout and enjoyed it throughly.
It is sad, dramatic, romantic, disturbing, tragic, thrilling and intreaging all in one. The acting is top class, with Ralph Fiennes giving a breath-taking performance. It is shot wonderfully really capturing each moment and sharing the intensity of the situation with the viewer.
