Review of The Constant Gardener (2005) by James J — 18 Jun 2009
...woah what an intense movie...I don't know it was after a John Le Carre Novel, but this man seems to be a good author...the movie gives an really deep insight in the work of anti-pharma activists and their opponent, the pharma industry...it is quite shocking to see how the pharma industry works and it sets me thinking about my meds and their development...
Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz are a wonderful cast for this movie, specially Weisz breaths so much life into the character of Tessa and her passion to bring up the truth and to help the people in Africa...
The setting is also great and it shows the many faces of Kenya and gives also a insight how everything runs down there in Africa...
I was left with oppressive feelings after watching the movie and I feel the need to inform myself more on this topic and talk with other people about it, really an awakening film and highly recommendable!
