A bit of a crab shoot of a film given the talent involved. A lot of filmatic interest seems to be turning towards the Abe Lincoln case and his assasination with a Steven Spielberg film also being in the pipeline, with Rob Redford being the first one out of the gate.

Hes managed to assemble a relatively strong cast (with the possible exception of Evan Rachel Wood's whose gothic tendancies still stand out like a sore thumb) to help bring the story to life. The biggest issues seems to be a lack of tension due to a lack of score or florish technically, as well as the fact that the film seems to lack somewhat of a grand quality that merits a theatrical release.

Its almost something you might find on the History channel or an HBO doc that got bumped up given the talent pedigree. If anything it was an informative trip to the movies but will be tricky to hang on to a lasting impression.
