Review of The Conspirator (2011) by Ant S — 05 Jul 2011
Enjoyable. Everything was here in this film - great acting, well shot, good suspense and hefty doses of good, old fashioned, drama. I never rated Robert Redford as an actor but as a director he did everything right.
I've always been a fan of James McAvoy and, even though he had to sport that terrible thing on his face that we might refer to as a beard, his accent faltered only on one word. Apart from that he showed that he can pull off the lead in a "courtroom" drama as well as an superhero action movie.
In the end it was nice to enjoy a film that wasn't depending on special effects or 3Dness and just enjoy the art of acting instead.
