The Conspirator is the first film from the American Film Company, whose mission is to tell entertaining and historically accurate stories of American history... I think they're off on the right foot.
It's an engrossing courtroom drama with an impressive cast (James McAvoy, Robin Wright Penn, Tom Wilkinson, Kevin Kline, Danny Huston). I give the movie credit for not sugarcoating the unfair trial and making a believable period piece with recognizable actors.
Whether you're a history buff or average filmgoer, The Conspirator is an absorbing movie.
