I spoiled myself for this movie because I googled Mary Surrat before I watched this movie .The first woman to be executed in the United States was a bit of a spoiler !A very interesting story that probably could have been a made for tv movie on the History Channel .
This story of the aftermath of Lincoln's assassination is told in a slightly dull way.Fabulous acting by all the well known leads help to elevate this movie quite a bit into a semi decent drama about a major legal injustice after the Civil War .
Although at this period in time and before ,the law was flawed and many innocent people went to the gallows, some for minor offensives .How fortunate we are to live in the times we do.
