Review of The Conspirator (2011) by Terry B — 11 Sep 2011
Great history lesson. I had no idea about the aftermath and trial of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. This movie did make me interested in the real events so I did search out to learn more. But let me say this movie however historical I thought they could of made it more exciting.
No, it does not need to be a non stop action movie but I've seen the history channel make these kind of retellings more stimulating (however let me say the acting was quite good). I was captivated by the subject at hand but I was nowhere even close in being captivated because of the movie itself.
When you start looking up history while watching the movie you know the movie is not doing its part in drawing you in or giving you the details you want from it. Better to read about the history than see this movie, or even see if the history channel has done some type of special on the subject which would better to watch that than this reenactment.
