Review of The Conspirator (2011) by Brian N — 05 Oct 2011
What an incredible historical film. Its one of those films that everyone should see, how America reacts to tragedy and how national feeling may influence how we react to the most extreme situations, the feeling that we sometimes need to get even without thinking of the consequences of our reactions.
Its a tragedy from start to finish, I only felt more and more sad as the film progressed, first feeling the death of Abraham Lincoln, and the impact that his death had on the people around him, then moving into the tragedy of Mary Surratt, and how she was blamed for a crime she may not have committed, and how our nations leaders, in a time of mourning, bypassed justice.
Very historically accurate, I only noticed one flaw at the end. I am excited that this new film company is out there and look forward to more historical films.
