Review of The Conspirator (2011) by Denny O — 26 Feb 2012

As a film lover and history lover, I can say I liked this film a lot, but there were many things I hated about it. I think the film had a great cast who portrayed the story very well. However, I think the story kicked off way too fast and the amount of historical inaccuracies I noticed really perturbed me.

Robert Redford really did a wonderful job with setting the mood for the film, however, his approach was just too theatrical for my taste. And the aftermath of Lincoln's assassination was a long, chaotic event.

Booth was not caught until a week after the fact. The film portrays this inaccurately. It's worth watching at least once but if you know anything about the time period, don't let it bother you.
