Alright, this movie has gotten great reviews, and has been compared to classic horror movies like Rosemary's Baby, The Omen, and The Exorcist...I'm here to tell you that it isn't that good and was pretty disappointing compared to the hype it got.
The story is played out again, possession takes over a lady, borrrring. There have been numerous movies with that scenario for the past decade, and it got old one year into them. It has a few jumps in it, but it has no real depth.
..You never get pulled into the main character, unlike in 'The Exorcist' when it consumed your very being. This movie is filled with CGI which takes away from the realism of past horror classics.
That being said, if you like jumping a few times and don't mind humorous CGI, you may feel the opposite. The story is one of the better possession stories compared to recent movies of the like. All in all I give it 3 out of 5 stars, mostly because of CGI and played out scenarios.
If you want a classic movie about possession, watch The Exorcist...comparing this movie to it is just laughable...
