Review of The Conjuring (2013) by Josh C — 14 Aug 2014
A little slow and overly delicate at first, but then it turns into a nail biter, pulling out every trick from the hat of 'haunted house' type movies (including goofy demon make-up). It's an odd mixture of serious unsettling scenes, and unintentionally funny cliches.
Not bad if you like a horror movie that sticks to the predictable roots of its genre.
