Review of The Conjuring (2013) by Drew M — 23 May 2016
'The Conjuring' is a horror masterpiece and a testament that old school style is still the way to go. The film is seeping with dread and it builds and builds in all the right ways. No cheap jump scares.
No reliance on stinger queues to rile you up. No dumb gimmicks. Just a director that has confidence in his ability to build suspense and a cast that can sell it.
