Review of The Conjuring 2 (2016) by Jordan V — 20 Sep 2016
One of the best horror movies I have seen in a long time. Great scares (that's very rare for me to say, seriously), great acting (the possessed girl, Wolfe, is phenomenal) , and great imagery. This movie provided some of the most haunting images I can recollect, rivaling the classics, thanks in large part to the evil, haunting Christian mythos backing it.
Alongside the sadistic story, the setting was great, the music was fitting, and it was great to see Patrick Wilson sing again (I had the desire to watch Phantom of the Opera for the umpteenth time afterward).
I kind of wish I had saved my initial viewing for my weekend in a secluded cabin in a few weeks.
