Review of The Conjuring 2 (2016) by Craig M — 22 Sep 2016
The first 20 minutes were some of that old black magic, but after that -- relying on an untrained child actress -- the film rattles apart like so much phantasmagoric smoke. The connection between Bill & the Demon Nun comes out of nowhere, is a bit of story happenstance mumbo jumbo, and is never explained.
Also, too much CGI rather than authentic, on-set special effects makes for some serious cartoonish ATTEMPTS AT scares.
