Review of The Conjuring 2 (2016) by Craig T — 06 Oct 2016
I was no fan of the lugubrious, basic original, but this extremely well made sequel erases all prior disappointments. It's technically stellar, with top-notch direction, sound, cinematography and production design, hitting all the right artistic notes so rarely hit in modern horror films.
Equal to its successes as a scare, it possesses a sweetness and humanity that lend to its overall credibility and entertainment value. Kudos to James Wan.
