Review of The Conjuring 2 (2016) by Jacqueline C — 15 Jul 2016
A horror film that I personally think was much better than the first. Taking into account a real life event and taking it to a place that does not feel too far fetched. A scary thrill ride that will leave you jumping at every scene (even those where it ends up nothing scary actually happens). Also don't be put off by the over two hours running time. This very unusual runtime for the average horror film really helps makes scenes, much more suspenseful, as in this case it allows the suspense scenes to be longer and drawn out.
This film also has some teerific camera and editing work included. The film had my eyes glued to the screen the whole time, and the performance the actors gave really had me belieiving the characters stories. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farming really helped me to believe their characters of Ed and Lorraine Warren. Yet another triumph from the horror director that is James Wan. Also for those who think you'll need to have seen the first one to fully understand the story. You won't. This movie has very small subtle references from the first one that do not affect the story.
In short if you're a horror movie fan and would like to laugh, cry, be entertained and scared out of your wits, go and see The Conjuring 2.
