Review of The Congress (2013) by Hugo G — 05 Jan 2014
This was a very strange and unique movie. It's one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen, visually and plot wise, but ithat made it one of a kind. It was half animated half live-motion, which made it more weird and interesting.
It had a very good concept and also a very powerful message, of how technology and the world of celebrities has become so obsessive and possessive that it could transform our lives one day. And even though I liked much more the not animated part of the film because it had a more touching story and didn't felt as confusing, it still managed to keep you interested and trying to absorve as much as you could from this hallucinatory world.
About the ending, I'm still confused as to what happened because I have two different theories, but at least it seemed to end with a happy ending after all. Which I hope to understand it soon.
