Review of The Conformist (1971) by Jeff B — 05 Mar 2008
I really didn't know anything about this film going into it, so I found some of it confusing, mainly toward the beginning because I guess I didn't notice when it went to flashback, and I didn't follow who some of the characters were.
But besides that, this movie was very good and extremely beautiful. The cinematography is amazing, and a lot of the scenes were perfectly set up. The dance scene, the forest, the wind in the leaves, but my favorite scene is probably the train ride, that was awesome and so well put together with the lighting, score, and overall mood.
I'll need to check this one out again so I can pick up more of the story, but overall I really enjoyed it.
