Review of The Condemned (2007) by Shaun C — 29 Jun 2008
Considering this is an American style Battle Royale, without the style and brilliance of Battle Royale, and a film made by WWE, it isn't as bad as you'd expect.
Simple story, 10 people, 9 will die, blah blah blah, this film is very entertaining with some watchable fights and typical action cheese.
Ok, this isn't great cinema, but it does what it says on the tin, and does what you expect and want it to do, entertain.
Austin, is okay as the lead, sounding like Will Patton, with the physical presence of Arnie or Stallone.
Don't be put off by the fact this film has a wrestler as the main star or that its made by WWE, as its actually a lot better than most the films they produce, this is a pure entertainment romp at its best.
