Review of The Condemned (2007) by Max S — 14 Jan 2010
The Condemned is what it is, a violent, gritty, b grade action, and I really enjoyed it. What?! I have been a pro wrestling fan for quite some time, so I can't help but enjoy watching Steve Austin run around an island being a bad ass with a conscious! What?! Some cool gore and action sequences in this movie, easy to enjoy as their isnt too much plot or twists to worry about.
Vinny Jones is great as a baddy as always, and I found all the actors moderately enjoyable to watch. The movie is about the 'condemned' who were put on an island to kill each other, the survivor winning their freedom.
The creator of this game is airing it over the internet and making some sweet coin, but the movie challenges the ethics of people wanting to watch it. So the critics pan this movie as they say the director is basically telling us we are unethical by watching the movie - but I don't buy into that.
It is an exciting testosterone rush that I thoroughly enjoyed, and could easily watch again.
