Review of The Concorde... Airport '79 (1979) by Bill T — 13 Aug 2009
Ultrabizarre finale to the airport franchise. This takes place, yes, on the Concorde, 2 flights actually, as a weapons manufacturer tries very very hard to get rid of a girlfriend who has some documents about some covert operations.
Needless to say, he's upset, so he tries to blow up the Concorde which she is flying on. Twice. Just an amazing film filled with ineptness and questions. What's with the shoddy special effects? Why after the first attack, does the Concorde just continue on it's way as of nothing ever happened? Why after the first emergency landing, where the hydraulic systems are damaged and so forth, is the airplane ready to go the next day, and why is ir the passengers just get on as if it was just, oh, I don't know, a slight case of turbulence? Why did we really need to see a love interest sub story with George Kennedy? I could go on.
.. Great great stuff.
