Review of The Company You Keep (2012) by George B — 18 Apr 2013
Well acted movie with a who's who of A list actors and actresses. First movie by singer Jackie Evancho who, per Robert Redford, was hand-picked by him to play his daughter after seeing her sing on TV only 4 days before shooting began.
Intelligent script. Good musical score. A thinking person's movie rather than much of the mindless dribble that is being shown now-a-days. Best movie Robert Redford has directed in many years. Shia LaBeouf is excellent as a cocky reporter who ends up learning a lesson or two by the end of the movie.
Susan Sarandon and Julie Christie show why they are such great actresses. Nick Nolte. Chris Cooper. Stanley Tucci. Terrence Howard. Richard Jenkins. Brendan Gleeson. Brit Marling. Anna Kendrick. Sam Elliott.
Stephen Root. What a cast, and they show why they are so great!
