Review of The Company You Keep (2012) by Trevor H — 26 Apr 2013
A plodding effort by Redford to get us on the edge of our seats, but the end result is that it's more likely to get us out of our seats and reaching for the 'off' button. The Lem Dobbs story is not too bad but to be honest, there is no way that Redford can come across as a former antiwar protester from the Vietnam days and still have a child of twelve years that he is raising.
The scenes where is running as a fugitive are laughable, he actually looks like a seventy-five year old hobbling along - oh, he is. All in all, it's not the worst movie you'll ever watch, but when stars like Susan Sarandon, Nick Nolte and Julie Christie can't rescue it, nobody can.
