Review of The Company You Keep (2012) by Sorcha S — 15 Aug 2013
Few things piss me off in a movie like sloppily trying to pass off a fake timeline. The SDS and the Weather Underground were in action 40+ years ago, NOT 30 years ago, as Redford tries repeatedly to press on the audience.
It's a cringeworthy act of vanity that Redford tries to pass himself off as young enough for this role. In another stunning act of math magic, we are supposed to believe that he and Julie Christie's character have a 23 year old daughter as a result of their affair in what would have been the 1970s.
It's all too preposterous to give creedence to any other part of this film.
