Review of The Company of Wolves (1984) by Brett B — 04 Dec 2011
Packed with subtext and overflowing with atmosphere. This is a "horror" film that is actually about ideas, and there's something incredibly satisfying about a movie challenging you on an intellectual level, while - at the same time - still delivering a moody and creepy yarn.
Director Jordan embraces a fantastical, almost dreamlike tone, which really gives the more horrific elements (when they do arrive) some bite (pardon the awful pun).
