Review of The Commuter (2018) by Kenr — 31 Oct 2018
The trailer looked halfway between intriguing and ridiculous but then, so did the movie. No spoilers here, but what starts out like a remake of Hitchcock’s ‘Stranger on a Train’ - draws you towards hoping for some intelligent turnaround from action director Jaume Collet-Serra and predicable Liam Neeson moronic action fodder.
Then, just as the journey begins to look interesting the signals change and the ride derails itself. Fans of mindless, impossible action, won’t be disappointed but, anyone looking to use their brain will be left at the ticket barrier.
It’s a Big money-maker that apart from a cleverly designed (and endless) end credit sequence is somewhat worthless as quality entertainment.
