Review of The Comedian (2016) by Giles G — 06 Feb 2017
This film crosses into above-average class simply because of some decent work by De Niro and the huge number of cameos by ancient actors not recently seen. The premise of an almost-famous aging man struggling for relevance plays well as De Niro does his best work in a long time.
The secondary romance plot is not credible and extends the screen time to the point the film becomes tedious. This one's sort of fun, but missable.
