A minor league pitcher gets cut loose from the San Jose Stallions and inadvertantly finds some new purpose in life by coaching disadvantated youths in a subsidized program. Some similariites with the Bad News Bears but Ritter gradually wins you over.
Of note, this one features a small role for Patrick Swayze.
