And the winner of the 1985 Best Picture winner is: The Color Purple!!! NOT OUT OF AFRICA!!! Best Actress Goes to: Whoopi Goldberg!!! to say that this film was robbed would be an understatement. 11 academy award nominations and 0 wins.

This is one of the two films in existence that can make me cry the other one being Crash (the cloak scene). this film is brilliant in every sense of the word and the academy didn't have the brains to give it any awards.

I've had the displeasure of seeing Out Of Africa and it is nothing compared to this. Africa bored me while this film touched me and made me feel amazed that Spielberg could make a film like this. I have seen very few films that are this good.

I mean, just the level of crap that happened to this girl is enough to make anyone at least tear up a little bit. no one should have to go through that. and then she ends up a kind selfless woman despite everything instead of a cold hard mean woman, that takes.

..more than I've got. I would defenitley suggest this film to anyone who hasn't seen it. it is absolutely fantastic.
