Review of The Color Purple (1985) by Chantale A — 17 May 2012
This is one of my favorite films. Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize story, directed by Spielberg, just after, E.T. made its mark. The cast, screenplay, settings, wardrobe and direction are impeccable and the music adds to whirl you into the time period of the earlier 1900s.
I wish Whoopi would do more roles like this.
