The Color Purple: My favorite movie of all time. This film, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Alice Walker, features iconic acting performances and an incredibly moving musical score and is an emotional roller coaster about injustice and redemption that vividly captures the essence of the American South in the early 1900s.
A masterpiece. A+.
