As I am mad fro Scorsese, I love this film. Plus, the 80's was the time when Tom Cruise was still good and not turning in shite after shite (except for maybe Legend). And anything with Paul Newman will impress me as the man is just so fucking cool.
Although, The Color of Money has a few faults and like most sequels, it has absolutely nothing on the original. The brilliant cinematography and editing (by the best of the best Thelma Schoonmaker) of the pool playing is pure genius and lifts this film to a height of greatness.
Yet, with the fairly poor script and lack of intensity that lies in The Hustler this movie will never reach classic status or sit in the top best of Scorsese's or Newman's work...which in theory is fucking hard to do anyway.
