Review of The Color of Money (1986) by Alex F — 07 Nov 2010
Fast Eddie returns to his heyday, this time with a protege. Newman once again steps into the shoes of the character that made him the star he is and hasn't lost any of that old charm from the last film, which was twenty five years ago.
Tom Cruise is annoying but that's also the character, Mastrantonio is good to begin with but she slowly goes off the boil. The one to watch of course is Newman and he delivers everything you want from him and the character.
A mention has to go to Scorsese also for his superb direction, particularly in the pool playing scenes. Great editing and camera shots make the film more interesting.
