Review of The Color of Money (1986) by Critic M — 06 Aug 2013
A fine wine film, being that it seems to get better with age. Martin Scorsese directs a top notch film with a stellar cast. Tom Cruise and Paul Newman teaming up for a picture is absolutely incredible and it was done at the perfect time.
Cruise was just beginning to make a name for himself in the industry and Newman was an aged legend who had done countless films and had already left his mark on popular culture. This cross generation brilliance is a delight to see on screen and is a recipe for success.
The story, direction, cast, cinematography and soundtrack is excellent. All of these combined elements help make "The Color of Money," a true classic.
