Very good. Also very fascinating given the ending and when the film came out. The film is very much a two person show between Stamp and Eggar, and both deliver. Stamp plays his character almost like he's an alien from another planet.

You don't want to sympathize with him, but at certain points in the film, you do. Eggar is also fantastic. It's a very disturbing film, but it's very good. Still cannot believe they got away with the ending they did given the Hays Code was still in effect.
