Review of The Collector (1965) by Bradley K — 25 Nov 2012
A wonderful adaptation of John Fowles novel. Although a small amount of narration remains from the book's alternating diary structure, the film recasts as a series of interactions between the two main characters.
Wyler was really a magnificent director of actors and he gets career making performances out of his two relatively inexperienced actors. The haunting conclusion of this film nails home just how appropriate the title is.
