Review of The Collection (2012) by Jon C — 01 Dec 2012
Totally gory and violent to boot.
The makers of the 'Saw' movies bring the same sick, twisted edge to a serial killer.
Like Jigsaw the Collector sets up elaborate traps for his victims having them be unaware where they are and when they strike lies the difference.
One victim escapes his evil clutches while a young girl falls victim to his sadistic schemes and scary tortures.
The film explores more of the mythology than what was presented in the previous film.
There's a ton of amazing gore scenes that'll satisfy many fans, a lot of the carnage is what holds this film together.
The Collector himself is one intimidating bad guy who's face you can't see and who's sanity is all over the place.
This cast is a bunch of unknowns to me but Emma Fitzpatrick is pretty neat as a victim who gains some courage toppling the killer's dangerous tactics.
The ending seems like a setup for another installment, I'm wondering what more they can do with this series.
