Review of The Cold Light of Day (2012) by Boris Nicolas E — 04 Feb 2013
The Cold Light of Day is about Will Shaw (Cavill), who goes to Spain to spend vacation with his family on board of a boat. Things take a turn for the worse when his family is kidnapped by terrorist and his world is turned upside down when he is being chased by the CIA throughout Spain.
Will learns there is a mysterious briefcase involved and questions, "What does this briefcase have to do with anything?" There's nothing particularly wrong with The Cold Light of Day, it just feels like its not enough.
Like it didn't fulfill it's destiny in 90 minutes. Maybe, it's the fact that it's 90 minutes, making it feel rushed and lazy. I think that's it And also the fact that you think Bruce Willis is going to be in this for the whole movie, he dies within minutes of the beginning of the movie.
Final Consensus: The Cold Light of Day is a lazy, chase film taking parts from successful action flicks. It's action sequences very keen, but it's predictability is sheer max.
