Review of The Cold Light of Day (2012) by Fabien R — 30 Dec 2013
Henry Cavill's performance is the best reason to watch this film. The Man of Steel, in a pre-Superman role, shines as an action hero. The film reminded me of movies like Taken and Frantic. It needed a rewrite. Bruce Willis was miscast as Cavill's father. They have no on screen chemistry together. Willis's character wasn't well developed and his backstory needed to be elaborated. I think he did the film only for the paycheck.
Cavill is great here. Sigourney Weaver is awesome as the villain in the film. She was a good foil to Cavill. I think they should have casted another actor in Willis's role.
The film does have a great car chase at the end of the film. I would say, see it for Henry Cavill and Sigourney Weaver's performances.
