This is more like watching a 1929 Broadway musical than a movie, and that's what makes it facinating as well as entertaining! Technically, like most early sound films, it's an interesting mess.
But the fact that so much of the brothers' performances seem so spontaneous makes it all the better. And Margaret Dumont has NEVER been funnier!
