Review of The Cobbler (2014) by Manny C — 22 Mar 2015
Sometimes a filmmaker really misses the mark. It happened last year to Jason Reitman with the release of Men, Women & Children and it's happening again with writer-director Tom McCarthy and his latest, The Cobbler.
Incidentally, each one stars Adam Sandler. McCarthy is the talent behind gems The Station Agent, The Visitor and Win Win. His latest is a bust on every level. It's swill lamely passed off as whimsy about a shoe-repair man (Sandler, trying his best) who becomes his customers whenever he puts on their shoes.
The film is beyond repair. Bad. So bad.
