Review of The Cobbler (2014) by David C — 22 Mar 2015
I like Adam Sandler when he is doing something different than his type cast. You know, the goofy dude who always goes on vacation and the laughs are far too in between.
I am an avid Sandler fan, yet I typically go into one of his movies with lowered expectations of late.
The problem with this is the story is fairly simple despite the intriguing mystery behind it. It was predictable and when the drama turns on, it doesn't connect.
The acting was fine, the direction was poor, and the overall tone just didn't quite make it to where it could have. Although I welcome this side of Sandler, I am disappointed in this movie.
2 out of 5 stars.
