Review of The Cobbler (2014) by Tyler H — 19 Jun 2015
You might think that a movie with a premise this outlandish would be inherently interesting. In the case of The Cobbler, you would be wrong. Although the concept is bazaar it somehow feels played out and derivative of the writer/director's earlier work.
While not a complete miss for McCarthy, his latest film fails to be fundamentally entertaining or relevant. Adam Sandler gives a solid performance as a socially awkward shopkeeper, but with no real growth, the character's journey to find meaning in his mundane life falls flat in the end.
