The Cobbler is the story of a, you guessed it, cobbler.Played by Adam Sandler, he has inherited an ancient stitching machine from his lineage which allows him to become whoever's shoes the machine repairs if he puts the shoes on. He begins becoming other people and trying to change his life to do so before getting himself into and out of trouble. The plot sound silly? Well it IS and Adam Sandler film...

Things I Liked:

Method Man. Ok, now this may say some other stuff about the movie, but Method Man stole the show playing a diverse pair of characters, his actual person, and then Adam Sandler impersonating him. The diversity was a bit campy but it really made the film much more enjoyable as he was on screen and his two character differences showed some diverse choices and skill in diversity of characters.

The Premise. The premise was very intriguing and I felt like it played very well for the most part. It was an original and unique idea that really made the movie more interesting. The concept of the film and watching how many different ways Sandler could use the magic shoes to his advantage is what makes the movie and the magic plays a bigger role than many of the other characters and they almost drive the film at times.

Things I Didn't Like:

Everything Else. This film is long, it's boring, it drags. The side characters almost don't matter. The plot is like 6 smaller films and are not interesting when all strung together. I felt this would have worked better as a series of shorts rather than a feature. The other characters are all forgettable with the exception of Sandler, and Method Man. Very little makes this film work.

Overall. Overall the film has some bright spots but they are very few. The story is forgettable and the movie is boring. This film isn't good enough to be praised, isn't bad enough to be lampooned, it's mediocre and it could have been much more interesting, but it seemed to lack focus, and it sucked because it made me feel like it wasted my time, which is unfortunate because it could be been so much more.
