Review of The Clown (2011) by Renan S — 28 Sep 2012
"In life we ??have to do what you know. The cat drinks milk, eats cheese mouse and you do what? "It's hard to find a vocation because, often, do not you love ending profit taking. Some feel that you need is to be professional, or loving what you do not. Then imagine that your job is to make people laugh, but if you do, who makes you laugh?
This is "The Clown", a film chosen to represent Brazil in the list of foreign films Oscar. In the film Selton Mello is Benjamin / nag, he is a clown, like his father who owns the circus, but it is Benjamin who takes care of problems and this is the troupe tiring and taxing it. His troupe will do well, earn little with the small audience attending their shows.
Benjamin even have identity document, but is also in doubt with your personal identity. It would even be a clown? How to know when you're good, you do good? What does he need? Time, money, needs to cool her head a little, after all, is everything in life. Questions are common and even necessary. But as a clown can stop being sad?
The director and screenwriter Selton Mello confronts these questions by presenting a contrast. His troupe goes to places somewhat insulated interior, with people who have a simple life and in need of a little joy, however, there may not be the place that needs laughter, they are shaped and dreamy people are well. Unlike people living in urban areas, they delight themselves with the circus, their simple and joyful lives with open arms to receive this troupe trying to bring more joy.
Unlike their big city people are not satisfied with little, their lives complicated urge for a little joy. What do they do besides living tired, upset, angry and saturated from the monotony of their lives? What they do is really what they do? No, they do not understand those things. Life is full of problems and laugh always helps, so does the clown who knows, he makes people laugh and have a little joy because that's what makes him laugh and be happy, that's what he really can do!
