Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by Mark E — 07 Feb 2018
Interesting how people hoped and prayed for a movie that wasn't a "found footage" film and when they get it they hate it. The movie advanced the story and explained a lot about what actually happened in the previous two movies.
Everyone wanted to know about where the monster in NYC came from, many speculated that it came from space, and that seemed to be acceptable and not cliche? Most monsters that invade either come from the ocean or space so why is that when we expect something different and then get it it's too outrageous? We scream for more originality but hate it when we get it.
So do people want more generic Hollywood movies or something that isn't like everything else? This isn't Godzilla and it's not suppose to be. Was the movie spectacular, no, but it wasn't garbage either.
I encourage people to watch all three movies in order and enjoy this little franchise. Excited for the fourth movie later this year.
