Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by Brandon K — 04 Feb 2018
I wish I had seen this in theatres. These movies were made to be seen on the big screen in the right setting. It's possible that my impression of the movie was hindered by me having to watch it on my laptop, which is one of my least-favorite ways of watching movies or television.
I would have been happy to buy a ticket to see this one at my local theatre. The cast is stellar, the production values are excellent, and the story combines some of the best elements of 'Alien', 'Gravity', 'Back to the Future', and even, with considerable improvements made, last year's 'Life'.
I especially loved the ending and what I could mean for future installments, provided we are fortunate enough to see more movies made. Good job, Abrams and company. You're keeping this franchise alive with both style and substance alive at full capacity (but let's bring the franchise back to the theatres).
