This movie gives us a good foundation to connect the previous two Cloverfield movies and also for upcoming productions related to the Cloververse , even though the movie had some elements of the SPACESHIP MALFUNCTION type of movies , it all does help in making the movie more exciting than just an exposition for the connection between the movies.
