The difference in what I expect from a movie I see in the theaters vs at home on Netflix matters here. The latter just needs to entertain throughout and the JJ Abrams mysterybox does that by itself. Largely a hot mess, the world building, or rather multiverse building, of the Cloverfield story is something The Cloverfield Paradox gets right.
